This article on liminal spaces in career transition is gold. It gave me a lot to think about. My dissertation dealt with liminal spaces so they have a special place in my heart. The article got me thinking about how little we talk about the identity crisis that comes with changing careers, particularly in industries that are closely aligned with a person’s identity. People who seek these careers often have a strong sense of purpose and values so it is very easy for the job to become part of who they are. It really has to for you to succeed.
